If you want to attach a depreciation book to several fixed assets, you can use the Create FA Depreciation Books batch job to have Microsoft Dynamics NAV automatically create the necessary FA depreciation books.
To set up FA depreciation books automatically
In the Search box, enter Depreciation Books, and then choose the related link.
Select the fixed asset for which you want to set up a FA depreciation book. On the Home tab, in the Manage group, choose Edit to open the Depreciation Book Card window.
On the Actions tab, in the Functions group, choose Create FA Depreciation Books.
In the Create FA Depreciation Books window, on the Options FastTab, fill in the Depreciation Book field.
In the Copy from FA No. field, choose the field, and then select the fixed asset number you want to use as the basis for creating new FA depreciation books. If you fill in this field, the depreciation fields in the new FA depreciation books will contain the same information as the corresponding fields in the FA depreciation book you copy from. Leave the field blank if you want to create new FA depreciation books with empty depreciation fields.
On the Fixed Asset FastTab, you can set a filter to select the assets which you want to create the FA depreciation books for. If you leave this FastTab blank, all fixed assets (except for the ones marked as inactive) will be included in the batch job.
Choose the OK button to have Microsoft Dynamics NAV create the FA depreciation books.
