If you have posted an erroneous entry, you can cancel it. This means you can mark the posted entry as an error ledger entry and then post the correct entry.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV uses the fixed asset posting date in many calculations, so entries with incorrect FA posting dates must be corrected.
To cancel FA ledger entries
In the Search box, enter Fixed Assets, and then choose the related link.
Select the fixed asset that you want to view.
On the Navigate tab, in the Fixed Asset group, choose Depreciation Books.
Select the line with the relevant depreciation book. On the Navigate tab, in the Depr. Book group, choose Ledger Entries. The FA Ledger Entries window appears.
Select the line to be corrected. On the Actions tab, in the Functions group, choose Cancel Entries.
The necessary entries are created in a journal. Note that the entries are placed in a journal that must be empty and have a number series set up in the journal batch.
In the Search box, enter FA G/L Journals, and then choose the related link.
In the Fixed Asset G/L Journal window, the FA Error Entry No. field is automatically filled.
Enter the balancing account on the line.
On the Home tab, choose Post to post the line. The entry from the journal line and the FA ledger entry with the FA error ledger entry number will be marked as error ledger entries. This is only possible if the two entries have identical FA posting dates, FA posting types, and amounts with opposite signs, debit and credit.
You can now enter and post the correct entry.
